Airport City Manchester has already seen the creation of over 2,000 new jobs and attracted substantial investment across the 821,000 sq ft developed to date.

In July 2017, Icon Industrial, a joint venture between TPG Real Estate and Stoford Developments, completed a deal to acquire 45 acres of prime development land at Global Logistics. The completion of the deal, could see the development of a further 1m sq ft of logistics space within Airport City Manchester, creating 3,000+ new jobs.

To date, Global Logistics has established itself as a prime North West logistics site following the arrival of significant international logistics operators such as Amazon and DHL, which have benefited from its current infrastructure, transport links and proximity to the airport.


The development land at Global Logistics, which benefits from outline planning permission for c.1 million sq ft of lettable logistics space, will be built into a prime asset, with a total development value of c. £100m.

As Global Logistics expands, the surrounding infrastructure needs to be updated to support the growth. The A538 junction improvement works are required due to the need for increased junction capacity. The scheme involves upgrading the existing junction between the A538 Wilmslow Road and Sunbank Lane, which will deliver enhanced access to the Global Logistics development.
