A538 Junction Improvement Scheme
In order to carry out the junction improvement on the A538, whilst keeping traffic and disturbance to a minimum, certain measures have been put into place to manage impact where possible.
As Global Logistics expands, the surrounding infrastructure needs to be updated to support the growth. The A538 junction improvement works are required due to the need for increased junction capacity. The scheme involves upgrading the existing junction between the A538 Wilmslow Road and Sunbank Lane, which will deliver enhanced access to the Global Logistics development.
Where traffic disruption is unavoidable, a detailed traffic management plan is being implemented to provide relief. This will include the occasional use of temporary traffic lights and diversions. As the A538 is widened to a dual carriageway and the existing Sunbank Lane junction is upgraded to signal control, there may be some traffic disruptions along the stretch of road adjacent Amazon and DHL warehouses for the next 6 months.

As Global Logistics expands, the surrounding infrastructure needs to be updated to support the growth.To date, Global Logistics has established itself as a prime North West logistics site following the arrival of significant international logistics operators such as Amazon and DHL, which have benefited from its current infrastructure, transport links and proximity to the airport.
